Meet our New Elder Candidate

My name is Nathan Gilley, and I am a sinner saved by the blood of Jesus Christ. My family and I began attending Bellefontaine Grace in 2020. We are so thankful for this church and its body. We have met so many amazing people and have built some awesome relationships with fellow believers. We have also had the opportunity to be a part of and serve in a variety of ministries over the past five years that have allowed us to grow as well. I was born and raised in Bellefontaine and graduated from Ben Logan High School. My family moved back into the area roughly 13 years ago and we love being a part of this community. My wife Elisha and I have been married for 19 years, and we have been blessed with three amazing children Eli, Jacob, and Isabel.  Growing up, I was raised in a Christian home and my parents provided real life examples of living out the gospel. I grew up attending the Bellefontaine First Church of God learning about the Lord, His word and His love for me. As a kid I always prayed and read scripture but never had asked the Lord into my heart. I thought I had to just live a good life and never truly connected the relationship piece into it. It wasn’t until I was 12 years old when it all became real. It was a Sunday morning, and the pastor had just finished a sermon that dove into the topic of our personal relationship with Christ. I felt prompted to ask the Lord into my heart and He has been my light and leader of my life ever since!  It has been 29 years since that day, and God faithfully continues to mold and shape me. I am educated daily by His word and amazed by His grace and love for me. Life has not been perfect since becoming a believer. I still have my struggles, but I have a relationship with my heavenly father, and He has never left my side – “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalms 23:4). Even on the toughest days I look to Him for joy and peace. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13). He has blessed me and my family so much over the years and the more I have learned let go, seek after Him and have faith, the more He continues to amaze me.
